Slipped constrictor knot

The basic constrictor knot is a semi-permanent binding which, when tightened, can often be

removed only by cutting it off. Incorporating a drawloop provides a quick release for
applications where only a temporary seizing is required.

First, create a constrictor knot: make a complete round turn around the object, then cross the
working end over in a second round turn, on the opposite side from the first (1). Bring the working

end to the front of the knot and feed it beneath both loops between the object and the line (2).
Then bend the end back in a bight (3) and retrace its initial pathway, going under two knot parts.
Tighten the knot by pulling on both standing parts, but not the working end (4).
