Centauri knot

Ideal for small hooks, rings, and swivels, plus a wide variety of line thickness, this versatile hitch

is credited to fishing writer David Lewers.

Thread the working end through the eye or ring (1), then make three turns around the standing
part of the line, keeping them loosely coiled (2). Bring the end back toward the hook or other bit of
tackle, and pass it through the open turns alongside its own standing part (3). Methodically tighten

the knot and slide it up snug to the eye or ring on which it is tied, cutting the end off short (4).
