Like the single Blackwall hitch (see page 252) this minimal hook hitch is only reliable as long as it
remains loaded, and it should only be used in rope that is just about thick enough to fill up the
mouth of the hook.
Lay the end of the rope in the hook’s mouth and then pass it around the neck of the hook (1).
Take it outside the bill and, finally, tuck the end of the rope beneath its own standing part (2, 3).
