Editorial
Dear Brethren,
Greetings.
Madras Masters’ Lodge No. 103, GLI (formerly 4487 E.C.) was consecrated on the 24th day of March, 1923 at the Moore’s Pavilion, Madras. A century of continued existence and spreading the light of freemasonry.
The very first Madras Masonic Journal was published by our Lodge in December 1924 and continues till this date to provide articles and papers on Freemasonry written by its members.
It’s an honour for me to be the Editor of this Journal for the last couple of years, more so during its Centenary Year and I thank the Worshipful Master for having appointed me.
This Centenary Edition has articles and papers written by our members, covering the History of the Lodge, Some Peculiar Moments in Freemasonry, Are we practising those duties? the Ceremony of Raising, Brotherhood of Man, the Role of Director of Ceremonies, The Sword Bearer and from the archives of our Golden Jubilee Year Journal three interesting papers presented on the Nature & Purpose of Freemasonry, An Apathetic Mason & How to Enthuse Him, How Masonry Influenced Me and Esotericism of Esoteric School of the Quatuor Coronati Lodge.
To quote Alfred, Lord Tennyson “For men may come and men may go, but I go on forever”. May the light of Freemasonry be transmitted for centuries to come through this Madras Masters Lodge No. 103 and its Journal.
