From the desk of the Worshipful Master
Dear Brethren,
It’s a matter of great honor and responsibility to be in the Eastern Chair of the prestigious Madras Masters Lodge No. 103, GLI, especially in the Centenary Year.
The glorious years gone by, evidence the importance and uniqueness in being the first Masters’ Lodge in the Country. The list of Past Masters includes almost all of our Past Regional Grand Masters, as well as those from the District Grand Lodge of Madras.
The consecration of Madras Masters Lodge was held in Moore’s Pavilion, located behind the present Rippon Building. It was subsequently that the Freemasons’ Hall was built in Egmore.
Eminent Freemasons such as R W Bro. Archibald Campbell, W Bro. George Boag, W Bro. P. M. Sivagnana Mudaliar, W Bro. Thirumalai Pillai, R W Bro. Srinivasagopala Chari, R W Bro. C. A. Ramakrishnan, R W Bro. Justice K. Veeraswami, are a few of them who have been associated with the Lodge.
As we step into the next century, it is with an onerous duty to ensure that the glorious heritage is continued, and responsibility is further enhanced with the blend the past with the expectations in the future.
I deem it a great privilege to be part of the Centenary Celebrations
