AREA MEETING
An Area Meeting was conducted at Hotel Coastal Residency, Namakkal on 23rd June, 2018 under the chairmanship of V.W.Bro. S. Valliyappan, ARGM (Trichy Area) and W.Bro. D.Sudhakar, ARGM (Salem Area) wherein the activities of the Lodges in those areas were highlighted, in the presence of R.W.The Regional Grand Master, R.W.Bro.Abraham Markos,P.Dy.G.M.
Universal Brotherhood Day Celebrations @ Chennai on 24.06.18
R W the Regional Grand Master R.W.Bro. Abraham Markos inaugurated the celebrations and R.W.Bro. S.Swaminathan acted as the Master of Ceremonies. Most city Lodges extended relief to the needy in a variety of forms namely an artificial limb to the needy, Wheelchairs, Provisions to an orphanage, Medical equipment to VHS, educational assistance to a veda pada sala & many a deserving individual students. A chest screening for early detection of Tuberculosis for the Traffic police personnel was inaugurated in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Shree Abhinav IPS.
The valedictory function was held at the auditorium with Dr. Subramaniam Swamy, Member of Parliament participating as the Chief Guest.
The welcome address was given by R.W.Bro. R Rajendran,ARGM Chennai Area. R.W.Bro. G K Selvarajan OSM was the guest of Honour.
R.W.Bro. Abraham Markos R W the Regional Grand Master in his keynote address briefed the role of Freemasonry in society and what it stands for.
R.W.Bro. G Rajagopal ARGM introduced the Chief Guest to the audience and Dr Subramaniam Swamy in his address mentioned the writing in the Central Hall of Parliament mentioning “Vasudeva Kudumbakam” which in essence describes brotherhood. He stressed that all Indians have the same DNA which has been scientifically proven. He also made a mention of the tolerance and accommodation when many a migrant have found peaceful living in India like the Parsis, Jews etc .He stressed the need to change the mindset which had been wrongly tutored because of the misinformation fed in our educational system. Dr Swamy’s address was well received in a spellbound audience.
The vote of thanks was given by V.W.Bro. Suresh Shenoi, ARGM of Chennai Area and the meeting ended with the National Anthem.
