6. ​Report on Charitable Trust and Masonic Foundation
The Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India Charitable Trust made the following charities during the
period of the report:
Donation
Rs.2,26,502/- to Lodge Veeraswami No.200 towards purchase of a Maruti Eeco Vehicle to be donated to the Dignity Foundation, Chennai, in memory of late W.Bro.S.R.Chopra, a charity project of the Lodge , as recommended by V.W.Bro.Suresh Shenoi,ARGM .(other contributions for the project Rs.1,15,000/- from Lodge Veeraswami; Rs.50,000/- from Lodge Engineers Charitable Trust; Rs.75,000/- from Madras Masonic Charitable Trust. Total-Rs.2,40,000/-) Total cost of the vehicle-Rs.4,66,502/-)
Rs.56,000/- to Lodge Bangalore No.15 being matching grant, for their Charity Programme of providing 32 numbers of Mobility Aid devices for the Visually Impaired as recommended by W.Bro.Meghal S.Karekar,ARGM. (Lodge contribution Rs.56,000/-)
Rs.59,500/- to Lodge Calicut No.237 for their charity project of providing Medicines for Pain & Palliative care Society(Rs.33,500/-) and provide bench & Desk for Aided Upper Primary School (Rs.26,000/-) (Lodge contribution of Rs.59,500/- received by RGLSI CT) recommended by W.Bro. M. C. Kariappa,ARGM.
Scholarship
Rs.6000/- to Ms.G.Janani, studying B.E.Computer Science, III Year, Apollo Engg.College, as recommended by V.W.Bro.Suresh Shenoi,ARGM under Merci Endowment contribution made by W.Bro.R.V.Umashankar, in the name of his father late R. K. Varadanarayana.
Rs.13000/- to Shri B.S.Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School, towards scholarship to Ms.S.S.Shalini, studying Third Standard, as recommended by R.W.Bro.R.Rajendran,ARGM under Merci Endowment contribution made by W.Bro.Venkat Natarajan,PM, Lodge Mount No.14.
Medical
Rs.5,00,000/- to Lodge Ooty No.292 for establishment of a Dialysis Centre at Chamraj Hospital, Nilgiris. The total Estimate of the project is Rs.10 lakhs. (Lodge contribution of Rs.5,00,000/- received by RGLSI CT) duly recommended by V.W.Bro.R.Mahendran,ARGM.
