ACADEMIC MATTERS
It is very important that girls do not miss school unnecessarily. We appeal to parents not to book appointments for your daughters during the school day, unless it is unavoidable.
If your daughter is absent for a long period of time, the relevant Grade Head will make the decision whether to send work home or not. If your daughter is ill enough to be at home, she shouldn’t be working as she should be resting.
TUTORS
Pupils may, at times, seek the help of external Tutors for assistance in subjects. Please remember that the first port of call should always be the subject teacher. Day scholar parents may not arrange for tutoring to take place on the school premises.
If a boarder requires on-going tutoring, an application form must be obtained from the Head of Boarding or Mr Tyson. The completed form must be returned to Mr Tyson, together with a Police/Sexual Offenders clearance certificate. An identification card will then be issued to the tutor and must be worn when on the premises. A suitable venue will be allocated for the lesson. At no time will a pupil be allowed in an isolated area with a tutor.
All changes in time or Tutor must be communicated to Mr Tyson. (dtyson@stjohnsdsg.com) REPORTS
Reports are issued at the end of each term. A hard copy is given to your daughter after final assembly and a copy is emailed to you.
If your daughter is absent on the last day of school or leaves before final assembly, the hard copy will be kept until the following term. These may be collected from the class teacher once the girl returns to school the next term.
Requests for the issue of early reports are not granted.
