HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS
Day scholars and boarders may not leave before the end of the school day at half-term or at the end of term.
CLINIC
(clinic@stjohnsdsg.com) 033 392 8085 ext. 118 033 386 8304
No medication may be administered to your daughter by the Clinic Sister unless you have signed and returned the Medication Indemnity Form. Boarders must hand in all medication to the Clinic Sister, and will receive detention if any medication is found in the dormitories. Day scholars may not bring medication to school. We appeal to Day scholar parents not to send their daughters to school if they are ill, for the Clinic Sisters to diagnose.
If a pupil feels ill during school hours, she must report to the Clinic. NO pupil may contact her parents directly and make arrangements to be fetched from school. Only the Clinic Sisters, Mr Moore or the Grade Head may give permission for a girl to leave school.
INJURIES AT SCHOOL
The school has a compulsory Personal Accident Insurance Scheme, arranged by Marsh, in place. Parents will receive an accident form from the Clinic Sisters or the Head of Sport.
If you require assistance with the claim process, please contact our Finance Department (finance@stjohnsdsg.com / 033 392 8088).
In the case of a serious accident or medical emergency on school property, girls are asked to report to the nearest teacher on duty, who will contact the Clinic Sister.
APPOINTMENTS DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Where possible, we strongly appeal to parents to make appointments out of school hours so as not to disrupt the academic programme. At times, however, this is unavoidable. Please request permission for absence in advance, via email or hand-written letter, but not in a telephone call, to the relevant Grade Head (not the form teacher or office). Please understand that it is your daughter’s responsibility to catch up on any work missed. Academic staff are not expected to re-teach the lesson/work missed while your daughter
