TOURS
A one-week enrichment tour is arranged during Term 3 for Grades 8 and 10. These tours are compulsory as they form part of the curriculum. The cost of the tour is subsidised by the school, with parents paying the remaining portion (which is between R1 000 and
R1 400 – payable over 6 months).
uHambo takes place in Grade 9 for 3-weeks in August/September. The cost for this is charged over 10 months on your school account. For 2020, the charges will be R7 000 for day scholars and R6 500 for boarders. This is an integral part of the Grade 9 year and is not optional. By signing the Agreement of Enrolment, you have agreed that your daughter will participate in this journey.
ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
If your daughter is not well and will be absent from school, please contact the school before 7h30, via the School App, by email (nbhengu@stjohnsdsg.com) or by telephone (033 386 8304). Please provide a Doctor’s note if your daughter is absent from school for more than three days, is absent on a Friday or a Monday, or for an examination.
Saturday School and public holidays – please consult the calendar well in advance and diarise these dates so that there is no reason for absence. The normal academic programme is followed on a Saturday and on public holidays.
