Wikipedia
Wikipedia comes from the two words: wiki and pedia (the short form for
encyclopaedia). A Wiki is a site that lets users add or modify content and an
Encyclopaedia is a reference work that contains information on all branches of
knowledge or treats comprehensively a particular branch of knowledge usually
in articles arranged alphabetically often by subject.
Hence, Wikipedia is a free online encyclopaedia containing the most
comprehensive and widely used reference work humans have ever compiled. It
is the largest and most popular general reference work on the Internet.
The quality of articles in a wiki can vary widely, but well-written ones always
provide links to the original sources where you can verify the information.
