Chapter 14 - Editing Word Document 1
What is editing?
After typing a document, you will often discover that you need to make some
changes to your text. Perhaps you want to rephrase or even delete a sentence.
Editing is the process of correcting mistakes and making changes to the
content of a document.
Editing is done with the use of tools that are found on the Standard Toolbar,
Menu Bar or Office Button. Examples of these tools are; undo, redo, cut, copy,
paste, etc. To be able to edit a document, you need to open the document.
Opening a Document from a Word Processor
1. Click File from the Menu Bar or Office Button .
2. In the left column, you click on Open. [A dialog box will be displayed
for you to select a document to open].
3. Single-click on the file icon, then click the Open button OR
Double click on a selected document to open it.

Use the shortcut, CTRL + O.
NB: The process that is used to recall a document previously saved is termed
OPEN.
