The Indonesian Government disbursed Rp947.499 billion out of a total budget of Rp8.8 trillion
as of August 2021, to subsidize the salaries of 947,499 workers bearing the brunt of the COVID-
19 pandemic. "Through this assistance, we hope that companies can rise from the impact of the
pandemic, and workers can meet their basic needs," stated the Directory-General of Treasury at
the Finance Ministry via its instagram account, “@ditjenperbendaharaan,” on Tuesday. The wage
subsidy is being disbursed through the State Treasury Office VII in Jakarta to the account of the
Directorate-General of Industrial Relations Development and Worker Social Security at the
Manpower Ministry.
