THE PRESIDENT-IN-CHIEF IN COCHIN
The name of
Mr Conrad Stanislaus Dias, an
eminent advocate, was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium for appointment as a judge of the Kerala High Court. This was a matter of great joy for the community.
As and when appointed, he would become the first Anglo-Indian to be appointed as a Judge in a High Court anywhere in India.
On the 5th of May 2019, Mr Dias was invited to a reception accorded to our President-in-Chief Mr.
Mr. O’Brien addressed the gathering, touching on several important matters related to the community and the Association. He congratulated the Cochin branch and the other branches of Kerala for the initiatives taken by them both for the community and for society at large. He specifically mentioned the flood relief efforts and the tribute to our jawans.
He congratulated and praised Mr Conrad Dias and assured him of the
support and prayers of our members in 62 branches across the country.
Mr Dias responded, thanking the President- in-Chief, the Association and the Cochin branch for their support, prayers and affection.
This was followed by dinner and dancing with the active youth brigade of the Cochin branch leading the way.
Barry O’Brien and our First Lady Mrs Denise O’Brien by the Cochin branch of The All-India Anglo-Indian Association. Mr and Mrs O’Brien were on a private visit to Kerala.
The function at the Hotel Fort Queen, Cochin, was also attended by the
Governing Body Members for Kerala, Mr Adrian D’Cruz and Mr. Derrick Fernandez, eminent personalities pf
Fort Cochin and our members.
