Grundstein W aka Thor is a bay 17.3hh gelding, and is a gentle giant, who looks forward to his job everyday. Most of his show experience and training has been geared towards three-day eventing, he has competed at local Northern Wild Rose sanctioned shows, Beaumont HT (Horse Trials), Prentice Creek HT, Buster Creek HT. As much as he is willing to go out cross country, he is not passionate to go gallop and hunt down the natural fences. He would be best suited as a dressage or hunter mount with his lofty movement in all three gaits and quiet demeanor. He is used to being hauled to ride regularly in different arenas. The ideal partner for him would be a competent amateur rider that can help continue developing his potential. His size and personality would not match well with a younger, less experienced rider. He has excellent ground manners, clips, bathes, stands well tied/ for farrier, is good alone or in a group.
Sire: Gervantus’ sire Grannus was a successful show jumper up to advanced level and is the kind of jumper producer you can rely on. Grannus’ offspring
have competed at the highest levels of show jumping including: Grannusch/J. Whitaker, Imperial/R. Pessoa, previous German 6-year-old-showjumper champion Gaston/ H. Sprunger, Grand Slam/N. Skelton, Golo/G. Wiltfang and F. Sloothaak, Governor/P. He has also sired many approved stallions including Graf Grannus and Gervantus I and II. The maternal line originates from the state premium mare St.Pr.St.Gervante. From this dam-line comes the winner of many S-level competi- tors in all three disciplines.
Dam: Annabell W’s sire Kingston was the reserve champion at his Stallion Performance test and was equally indexed for dressage and jumping. Her dam Abendwolke was imported and is a foundation mare of Sigma Warmbloods. She is also the dam of the successful show jumper Garfield W (Gervantus II) who was ridden by the Canadian International Showjumper John Anderson.
