 A Royal Wedding
British and American Sun City ladies celebrated
the Royal Wedding in style, dressed in their finest wedding attire and wearing wonderful hats known as “fascinators.” Both tradition and style in their attire were in keeping with British etiquette for a daytime ceremony.
With a five-hour time difference, the ladies started the festivities by gathering at the home of Janet Bershers at 5:00 a.m., sharing a beautiful continental breakfast that included champagne mimosas to toast the royal couple, and, of course, viewing the proceedings on the telly.
A true fairy tale wedding was the story of the day.
Prince Harry (whose real name is Henry) sixth in line of succession to the throne of England, and his beautiful bride Meghan Markle, an American, will now be known as Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The titles were bestowed on them by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The
Duke of Sussex title has not been used for 175 years, and Meghan will be the first-ever Duchess of Sussex. Harry and Meghan were also made Earl and Countess
of Dumbarton; these titles have been dormant for 269
years, and
will be used
when on
engagements
in Scotland.
They will
use their
new titles as
Baron and
Baroness
Kilkeel when
in Northern
Ireland. History has been made by Harry and Meghan by not only bringing two families together but also two countries.
Our Sun City ladies also brought two countries together in their own way and were extremely proud to have shared in a part of history, a truly memorable day for everyone.

With fascintors in place, telly tuned to the carriage ride to Windsor Castle. Champagne and mimosas were almost gone after a toast to the new royal couple.
