A season equal parts folklore and pulp, whose arrival is heralded by slow, creeping death. A tangible air of mischief. A thinned veil. The smell of burnt pumpkin flesh. Bonfires. Candy. Ghosts and ghouls. The freedom to be absolutely anything or anyone. And the sneaking suspicion that magic is real, whether you believe in it or not.
Admittedly, we don't understand anyone who can't appreciate that and are not sure we care to. It is difficult each year to let all that go as the season changes again, but we've found that not all of that need be put away. There is plenty of darker folklore surrounding the winter holidays as well, if you only know where to look, and we're glad to turn over those rocks and share those shadows if you need a break from all that forced holiday cheer.
