The Company recognises that you may have to make personal calls during working hours or
outside normal working hours. Where it is deemed that an unreasonable amount of personal
calls are made using the mobile phone, the Company reserves the right to deduct those costs,
either through deduction from pay or otherwise as agreed and excessive use may result in
disciplinary action.
J) CALL RECORDING AND MONITORING
Calls may be recorded and monitored for quality purposes and may be used for training and
development. Calls or transcripts may also be used as part of the disciplinary or capability
process.
K) MOBILE DEVICE SECURITY
‘Mobile Device’ refers to any piece of computer hardware that can be removed from the office.
This includes laptops, PDAs, Smartphones, memory sticks etc. It has to be assumed that a
portable device can be lost or stolen at any point once it leaves the office. As such any
information on the device that is not encrypted could be exposed to the public, the competition
or someone with criminal intent.
If a Smartphone / Laptop is lost or stolen we must be sure that it does not allow easy access
to company data. Where possible smartphones should have:
• A password to access the device when it is powered on.
• A timeout that locks the device after an idle period.
• No applications running that provide access to company or client network resources
that can be accessed without a password
• No unencrypted data stored on the device that can be accessed without the device
password. Consider that the memory card in the device can probably be removed.
