10. Audit Attendance
If an assessor needs to cancel an audit due to adverse weather conditions etc, it is important that
they try and contact the client directly if the cancellation is being made at the last minute (not
simply leave a message on the EQA answering machine in the hope that somebody from EQA will
contact the client)
Assessors are not authorised to change audit dates without first informing EQA.
If for any reason, an assessor, due to oversight etc, fails to attend for an audit, they must take all
reasonable steps to facilitate a new audit date once they become aware of this situation. As
considerable time can be spent in booking audits, in particular Integrated Management Systems,
failure to attend audits without reasonable justification can result in termination of the assessors’
contract.
