HOW TRAUMA IMPEDES PLEASURE AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT
What is trauma? It is the response of the body to an unexpected event such as; a difficult birth, falling down or off
something, being beaten, shock, an accident, or hearing, seeing or smelling something that creates fear. The unexpected
events cause certain organs or systems of the body to stop working in a balanced way. This response can create illness,
     disease or inability to function.
Some of the common responses to trauma are feeling:
Depressed, numb, dissociated, helpless, shut down and shame, irritated, anxious or worried
Bodies respond with changes in heart rate, digestion, immune response and sexual response to name a few
Releasing Trauma should be done under supervision as your body might not know how to bring it self back to calm
without being facilitated to do so.
Some common methods to release trauma are:
Somatic Body work like The MItzvah Technique and Trauma Release Exercises
Breathwork like Pranayama Yoga and Somatic Breathwork
         Sounding
         Mindset shifts like EFT, NLP
There are many ways to release trauma, and some of them are simple as being present with your emotions to allow
whatever is coming up in a safe space, whether that is crying, or rage or frustration. Then re-engaging in a kind, calm and
loving way with yourself and others to allow your ventral vagal complex (parasympathetic nervous system response) to
come back to being relaxed and calm. We have created a “Trauma Release Day” to share our knowledge and expertise with
     you.
The Trauma Release Day is to teach us how to undo or unlock those blocks with movement exercises, bodywork and sound,
     and learning about body talk.

    DID YOU KNOW
BADMINTON is one of the 10 most popular sports worldwide based on how many play the game. It’s a fun and friendly non-
contact sport that almost anyone of any age can play and benefit from. Whether you are slow or fast, you will burn calories
and will exercise your heart, lungs, legs and arms while chasing badminton birds. The chase actively involves your mind and
entire body. Eventually, the chases will improve your mental & physical agility, including your balance and flexibility. The
exercise, the sense of improvement, and interacting with others, all contribute to mental well-being and stress-relief.

PLAY BADMINTON WITH US. We are at the Centre Hastings School in Madoc, 129 Elgin St., from
