HEART WARMING FOR A COLD DAY…
        WRITTEN BY: DEB PRESTON
Hello everyone, I would like to firstly thank you all for taking time out of your day to come and see the grand check and
how much progress we have made over the summer. I must say, you'll probably be shocked. I would also like to thank
the people that helped baked, help setting up at 6 am in the morning, and allowed us to do this. Thank you to Heather,
Mark, Debbi, Jenny, and Cheryl and Judy.

During the weekends we have set up a vast variety of food stands with the help of our family, including…
a sweet shop where we sold cookies, fudge, and alien rice krispies, a taco day where we sold, carnitas and a refreshing
lime slushie on the side, a tart day, and our oktoberfest where we sold schnitzel, pretzels, bratwurst, noodles, and a
        huge black forest cake.
I have to admit, we may have had maybe a little over 10 cups of the lime slushie. It was good. Anyways, now, after all
that hard work, and the moment you have been waiting for, we would like to submit and gift our check to you of..
four thousand, one hundred twenty dollars and five cents

        ST. ANDREW'S UNITED CHURCH, QUEENSBOROUGH
There are big things happening at St. Andrew's! Thanks to some really hard work by
congregation member John Douma (he's the one in the cherry-picker bucket way up there in
the photo) and by Queensborough craftsman Ed Couperus, with help from congregation
member Terry Mandzy, beautiful new hand-crafted, historically accurate louvers are being
installed to replace the well-aged (nice way of saying old and rotten) ones in the church
steeple. This is an amazing project, and we are so proud and thankful for these people who care
for our historic little church and have made it happen.

        MADOC TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOL
There are no words to express the gratitude. MTPS is sending out a huge thank you to the
Cassidy and Auger family. With organizers and many volunteers they hosted a a fun time
that raised money for many schools in our area. Many families in our community
participated in the Shannon Cassidy Memorial Baseball tournament. MTPS is proud to
accept this donation in memory of Shannon who was a parent and a vital part of our staff.
Shannon spent countless hours volunteering here at the school, donating her time to
taking photos of our school events and students. Thank you Justin, Elliot, Miller, Emi, and
        the Cassidy and Stewart Family.

                                  MARMORA PUBLIC SCHOOL
We were thrilled to be one of two area schools chosen By Landscape Ontario Horticultural
Trades Association (Upper Canada Board) for school yard enhancement projects this year!
Eleven trees were delivered, and installed last weekend by a terrific crew of volunteers.
This is an incredible improvement that will not only beautify our outdoor space, but will
provide shade for our students where before there was none. This would have taken us
years to achieve on our own!
