“A LEADER IS ONE WHO KNOWS THE WAY, GOES THE WAY, AND SHOWS THE WAY.”

Christine Spencer is the true example of this quote. “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”

Christine embodies our mission and vision as a Community Living agency. Christine goes above and beyond advocating to
ensure people are treated with dignity and respect while being supported in their own communities.

Christine ensure goals are created and met with a person centered approach. Christine operates with an open door policy
and makes sure that any questions or concerns are addressed in a time efficient matter.

Christine does not hesitate to acknowledge how much her team means to her however a team is only as good as their
leader. We are so thankful for everything that Christine does for our agency, the people we support and our community.

On Tuesdays, I attend the Adult Education program in Madoc. I am
completing my grade 12 course at CLA (community learning alternative),
which is located at the Central Hastings Support Network. Sam is my teacher
and she is wonderful. All the staff are wondering and have supported me.
I am taking a college-level law course and it is an interesting and very
challenging course. It teaches you to be very responsible in grade 12. I am
learning and making goals. My goal is to go to college.
I also have help when I need it but I usually do the work myself. In the law
course, I have an 82 percent overall and I usually do it on my own.
Madoc COPE will be collaborating with the Special Olympics to play bocce
ball on Mondays from 6-7:30 pm. Starting on May 27th until August 26th,
except July 1st, July 15th, and August 5th. Please feel free to come and watch
the fun. Written By: Mathew Polmateer - a person supported by Madoc C.O.P.E.
