2024 MP Youth Leadership Award recipients have been selected. Sincere shoutout to the MANY other bright and capable
students who were nominated. It was Very competitive. Join me in Congratulating Bryce Borger & Carlie Newman
Grade 7-9 category: Bryce Borger, a Grade 8 student from North Addington Education Centre.
Bryce is a sports enthusiast, a mentor, an emcee, a community volunteer, and an entrepreneur
with his Campfire Wood business. Bryce loves music, chess, is bronze cross certified and an all
sports athlete including baseball and triathlon. He is polite, caring and encouraging. Bryce is also
a member of the 608 Dukes of Edinburgh Royal Canadian Air Cadets Squadron in Belleville and
attend weekly meetings. His involvement enriches his school and community, making him a
standout leader among his peers.
Grade 10-12 category Carlie Newman, is a Grade 11 student from Central Hastings School. She is a
force of nature and an exceptional well rounded honour role student. Carlie has a love for photography,
serves on youth advisory boards and is an avid volunteer. Her passion for firefighting sparked at Camp
Molly, lead her to become a junior recruit at a local Fire Department. Carlie shows remarkable
compassion through her work with disabled individuals and her extensive volunteerism in sports and
community events. Her resilience and leadership were especially notable when she overcame a
challenging moment setting a powerful example for peers and adults alike.
Both Bryce and Carlie exhibit the ambitious spirit of leadership through their actions, discipline and
focus. They inspire those around them to get involved and make an impact. I look forward to hosting you
in our nations capital to recognize your outstanding contributions to our community. Keep leading the
way!
Marmora Public School Municipality of Tweed
Kindergarten was the place to be this week! First, We're excited to announce that 55 trees are being planted at
Kassie & Martin Chamberlain brought a little calf to Tweed Memorial Park on May 30th. In dedication to revitalizing
school to help us learn about the important work that our tree planting efforts, especially after the removal of ash trees,
happens on a dairy farm. Then, Mrs. Morton brought we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Park Tree Champions for
