WELCOME TO THE CHAMBERS MEMBER CENTRE!
Can you believe we are in the third month of 2nd quarter? There’s been a flurry of activity at the Chamber that has been
pushing us to keep up the momentum. Here we are, in June and folks do I have an update for you.
The Madoc and District Chamber of Commerce has been doubling down on its efforts to build in-roads with local
organizations, associations, and regional councils in order to position ourselves to serve the businesses of Central Hastings.
Recently, we met with Chris King, CEO of the Quinte Economic Development Commission to discuss areas of opportunity
and how we can bring sustainability, scalability, and net new business to our region.
With the above said, where is the Chamber currently sitting? We are proud to report our membership has increased to an
astounding 151 members with more on the horizon. We continue to have our signature networking events, with our
President, Shari Pearce, leading a captivating workshop on how to harness the power of Canva for design purposes; a tool
our small business owners can use to market their offerings. In terms of regional representation, Madoc and District
Chamber of Commerce will be attending the Centre for Workforce Development’s AGM in June – working with Brad’s team
continues to funnel insights into the challenges our regions small business owners are facing – and how we as a Chamber
can help.
We are continuing to build a comprehensive platform for our YEP program to help provide a breadth of practical learning
opportunities in partnership with our friends at Loyalist College’s Community Employment Services. Lastly, join us June 10th
and 11th at the Madoc Fairground for our first annual Outdoors Show which is shaping up to be quite the event. We have
secured sponsors and been acquiring some exciting exhibitors; it’ll truly be a weekend to remember.
As always, if you are a member and are looking for specific supports – please drop by our office and we can help provide
either the counsel or connections required to help solve your business needs.
Thanks, and we at the Chamber wish you all a strong 2nd quarter!
