Autumn has arrived with all its colour, nice time of the year to enjoy a walk through the O’Hara Mill
Homestead. Trust you enjoyed the street flowers this year and the new planters on the Russel
Street bridge. The scarecrows have been around now for a few weeks and they will soon head out
for another year. They have kept our streets safe for our visitors, families and friends to enjoy a
little shopping and fine dining in town. A few scarecrows were roughed up though but with a little
stuffing and a few staples, they survived.
Our first annual Heritage Harvest Golf Tournament held at the West Highland Golf Course was a
success, thank you to all our sponsors for their support, it was a little damp though but hey …it
never rains on a golf course. Look for the tournament next year a few weeks earlier, Sunday
     September 18th.

In December watch for Christmas Trees to start appearing in the downtown. It has been a busy year for the B.I.T. (Business
Improvement Team), our members all enjoy doing our part to enhance the appearance of Madoc and to promote a supportive
and welcoming town to do business, shop, visit and live. That’s it for now.
