International Aid
Myanmar 2012
Humanitarian aid to Myanmar by Kelab Putra 1 Malaysia
There were ethnic problems between the Buddhists and
Rohingya’s in Rakhine State.
About 30 medical personnel joined Kelab Putra 1 Malaysia
which also included logistics team, press and Buddhist
religious leaders from Malaysia.
3 staffs of SP Care who joined this mission were
1. Dr. Sathia Prakash 2. Dr Rashid 3. MA. Mohan
The team flew to Yangoon and from there a connecting flight
to Rakhine state.
In Rakhine State we visited both the Buddhist and Rohingya
camps where we gave medical aid. The logistic team sent food
supplies to the respective camps.
We spent about 3 days in Rakhine and before we left we
delivered our medical supplies to the local hospital in Rakhine.
Here we experienced the hardships faced by the Rohingya and
understood the importance of maintaining racial tolerance and
harmony.
