A Painting that was later stolen from Martha. Tobiasse designed a personal „signet“ for me which he said with a smile would describe my position throughout life: That was, how he saw me-a nice piece of work although not really flattering - a male goat ridden by a naked woman. He called it Chêvre et Déesse.’

I wrote later to him. In a way it was a constant reminder of my relationship with Martha. For that reason I have an ambivalent relationship to this signet until today, though at the same time it is a piece of memory of this great man, who sadly is dead by now.
"Great men are meteors that burn so that the earth may be lighted."
That is what Napoleon once said, perhaps thinking of himself. But for me Tobiasse was one of them, as time will show.
