Meleah Rose Gateley was born in McKenzie, Tennessee on May 18, 1999 to Jonathan
and Amy Gateley. She later became the big sister to her three brothers: Seth, Colten and Luke. Meleah has been a HomeLife Academy student since kindergarten and involved in many community and church activities during that time. She loves the performing arts, has been in 18 theatrical productions and won the Best Youth Actress Award from Nite Lite Theatre two years in a row. Meleah is in both the Union University Youth Chorus and the Jackson State Community College (JSCC) Innovation Ensemble. She has earned top chairs in the All Northwest Senior High Honor Choir for four years and in the TN All-State Honor Choir for three years. Meleah proudly attended the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts School of Music at Middle Tennessee State University. She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, a participant in the Tennessee Scholars program and a qualifier for the TN Hope Scholarship. Meleah was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society and the JSCC Honors Program, and she has earned 33 dual enrollment college credit hours with a 4.0 GPA. She is currently studying to earn 13 more college credit hours before graduation.
Meleah has enjoyed the freedom that home education has given her to pursue her passions and to individualize her education. She is grateful to have spent time focusing on what she loves and making a difference in her community. Meleah plans to major in music at a four- year university following graduation.
