DEPARTMENTAL ACHIEVEMENTS
The EST team have performed phenomenally this year and have risen to the challenge faced by COVID-19 with outstanding resilience, dedication and by finding new creative and innovate ways of working.
In the area of Innovation Acceleration
& Growth we have had a fantastic
year with the launch of Delta XTEND REVolution, Pinnacle Dual Mobility as well a number of HA product launches to name but a few! The teams have been
machines now available to accelerate new product and capacity projects. The team have also supported a number
of strategically important Capacity increases across multiple growth brands including ATTUNE, SUMMIT, CORAIL, & PINNACLE.
All of this in a year where for the majority of it we have been working remotely – this has been enabled in part by the MFF COVID-19 toolkit which included smart glasses technology and other remote access tools. We have amazing talent in our teams and we are very proud that
9 engineers from the Cork Innovation Centre will be featured in J&J’s 2020 Global Engineering Showcase. Well done Sean Walsh; Gavin Toner, Sonali Raut, Billy O’Connor, Eoin Lalor, Corrinagh Humphries , Richard Harrington, Orla Duggan and Niamh Coleman. The EST team also put their technical skill set to use by supporting the Campus Ireland Campus Ireland effort in supporting the HSE increase the volume of the patients getting treated. They did this through data analytics and technology implementation.
We also managed to continue to engage in the CSR activity in August with multiple small groups carrying out work in St. Pauls Special School Montenotte, Cork who are the nominated charity for the
site this year. All of that and there was still time for a bit of fun
doing amazing work in accelerating our launches, and we have seen 21 months acceleration in key Hip & Knee NPIs. The Machining Technology Centre became
a reality, with dedicated development
