Officers and community members having fun in the sun
From hosting Easter egg hunts to playing cornhole to distributing gift baskets, Chicago Police Officers spent most of April enjoying the outdoors.
To properly celebrate the increasingly warm weather, several districts and their officers hosted a heap of outdoor activities to interact and engage with the community. With Easter and Spring Break occurring in April, it was the perfect month to gather the youth, spend quality time and promote safely playing at the park.
Here is a look at how officers and their communities celebrated Easter and Spring Break:
   5th District officers distributed Easter goody bags and books, provided by Good News Cof- fee House, to the children of Calumet on April 3.
5thDistrictofficersandDCOswentto Palmer Park on April 1 for Rollin’ Rec, a day of recreational fun, to play video games, cornhole and more with the youth in the community.
5th District officers joined Ms. Pearl’s Day Care for an Easter egg hunt with the children on April 4.
  8th District officers headed to Lawn Lanes on April 1 for a day of bowling with students on Spring Break.
