Cops and the community
Spring has sprung, and that means even more opportunities for FOP Lodge 7 members to build relationships and make lasting connections with their communities. Sometimes it’s a small gesture of kindness and humanity; other times it’s about restoring neighborhood pride by cleaning up a bit after a long winter. On many days and in many ways, Chica- go Police Officers helped bring brightness to others in April.
To mark Earth Day 2021, CAPS and patrol officers in the 20th District got their hands dirty as they helped McCutcheon School students and staff tend to their gardens.
In the 9th District, officers teamed up with 312 Fish Market, Chiu Quon Bakery and 88 Market Place to deliver food to the elderly during the Mon- day Senior Lunch Giveaway program.
Also joining in the Earth Day festivities were 5th District offi- cers, who, along with the Pullman Civic Or- ganization, bagged up several garbage bags as they cleaned up along Cottage Grove Avenue on April 24.
