Officers lined the sidewalk and saluted as the children of fallen officers Samuel Jimenez and Eduardo Marmolejo arrived for their first day of school. Jimenez and Marmolejo died in the line of duty in late 2018, but their families and their special days have not been forgotten by Chicago Police Officers.
The sun shone down on the 19th District as it celebrated the new school year with local students, their families and nearly a dozen local churches, business- es and other organizations. Aside from handing out supplies, officers took time to chat with youngsters.
