Cops and the Community
Back to school means a lot of different things this year, but it hasn’t changed how Chicago Police Officers do their part to help out the children in their community as they prepared to return to the classroom — virtual or otherwise.
Officers in the 25th District teamed up with the National Teachers Acad- emy to hand out 500 backpacks to students at the Lewis School of Excel- lence. That put many mask-covered smiles on the faces of the kids and their parents as they prepared for a new school year.
Officers in Albany Park joined CPS of Chicago for a back-to-school event. Just before Labor Day, the officers connected with community members to build relationships.
