Chicago Police Officers who double as the Boys of Summer on the baseball field with the CPD Finest and Chicago Police Knights Baseball Club had to wait a while to get into game action this year, but they continued on the field even as fall rolled in during September.
That included a doubleheader of sorts, as the Finest and Knights took on the Dallas Fire Department Heat, which ven-
tured north for a pair of games.
The Knights and Heat put on a pitcher’s duel at Boomers
Stadium the first night, with Dallas prevailing 2-1. The Finest did its part to represent Chicago the next night as it rolled to a 16-9 win over the Heat at Ozinga Field in a game that raised $5,000 for the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
