thing for someone else five days after Thanksgiving.
The 100 Club of Chicago turned it into a daylong mis- sion by touring the city to say thank you to police officers
and firefighters throughout the City.
The 100 Club’s five employees and two volunteers hit a
total of 37 locations on Giving Tuesday, including police headquarters, various district stations, the fire and police department academies and Cook County sheriff’s offices. At each location, they handed off another batch of cook- ies donated by Jewel-Osco.
“We have delivered cookies on an appreciation day be- fore, but this is the first time we’ve done it on Giving Tues- day,” said Chelsea Barras of the 100 Club.
The 100 Club team started the day at the Chicago Police Academy, stopping by a classroom of cadets to provide a sugar bump during one morning session. Needless to say, it didn’t take long for the cookies to be devoured.
A few blocks away at the Lodge, there were smiles aplenty as the 100 Club contingent ascended to the third floor and presented President Dean Angelo, Sr., and the FOP staff with the variety of cookies, as well as a thank you from the 100 Club for all that the City’s police officers

Angelo later added that it’s comforting to know police officers around Chi- cago have unwavering sup- port from the organization.
“It’s awesome,” he said
of the appreciation shown by the 100 Club for officers who are just doing their job. “You don’t do things for recognition.”
