They attempted to move their vehicles in the chaotic scene in order to transport Officer Cajucom to the hospital, but they were unable to do so.
Amidst this scene, Des Plaines Officer Matt Jones arrived with his vehicle to aid the officers in distress. Officers Sanchez, Manalo and Regalado assisted Cajucom into the Des Plaines Police squad car. Further aid was rendered to Officer Cajucom on the way to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where he was immediately attended to.
Due to the immediate and decisive actions by Officers Manalo, Regalado and Sanchez, as well as by Des Plaines Officer Jones, in rendering immediate aid to Officer Cajucom and transporting him to an area hospital, they most certainly saved Officer Cajucom’s life.
