Top spellers shine in 3rd District contest
The 3rd District CAPS office once again played a key role as part of the seventh annual Englewood Spelling Bee, which took place at the South Shore Cultural Center in May and was hosted by Dream Big Complex. Spellers in fifth through eighth grades stepped to the podium to test their vocabulary skills. When it was all over, three win- ners took home cash prizes — includ- ing $500 for first place — and posed for celebratory photos.
