PREPARATION
Remove lid from the box. Seal the entire surface, inside and out, with Jo Sonja’s All Purpose Sealer. When dry, lightly sand. Basecoat entire box and lid with Husk using large flat brush. Using the same brush, load with Husk and corner load with Linen; slip-slap to create a muted texture. When thoroughly dry, transfer design to surface, except for the horses.
HORSES
Tape about 1⁄2" below the bottom horse. Using the same slip-slap technique, use Napthol Crimson and Raw Sienna to basecoat the horses. Working wet-on-wet, pick up a side-load of Indian Red Oxide and slip-slap to blend. When dry, transfer pattern for the horses. All linework is Titanium White. Basecoat the eye in Titanium White with an Ultra Blue Deep dot. See Steps 1 and 2.
