LARGE ROSE BLOSSOM ON FRONT
Basecoat the center of the bowl with Gold Oxide using a #6 filbert. Using a #6 filbert loaded with Napthol Crimson, paint a C-stroke under Gold Oxide bowl. Dry- brush a highlight in a circular shape on the outside edges of the bowl. Load a #2 round brush with Sapphire and paint a C-stroke with the bowl and the Napthol Crimson stroke. Load a #4 filbert brush with Gold Oxide and side-load with Naples Yellow and paint strokes on the Napthol Crimson base. Add Indian Yellow dots in the center of the bowl. Highlight with a few Linen dots. Add Napthol Crimson graduated dots at top of the flower. See Steps 4 and 5.
PINEAPPLE TULIPS
Basecoat the oval center with Gold Oxide using a #6 filbert brush. Side-load with Indian Red Oxide and shade across the top of the oval. Rinse brush and side- load with Indian Yellow and shade across the base of the oval. Paint the side petals with a #4 round brush loaded with Naples Yellow. Shade outside petal with a side-load of Orange. Overstroke petals with Orange, using a #4 round brush. Load a #2 short liner brush with Titanium White and add highlight strokes to the top of the petals. Paint cross-hatching and the linework on the petals with a #2 short liner brush and thinned Paynes Grey with Naples Yellow dots. Add a Paynes Grey C-stroke across the top and down the sides of the oval using #2 round brush. Add Paynes Grey oval dots at top of the flower. See Steps 6, 7and8.
MUMS ON TOP
Basecoat the center of the bowl with Gold Oxide using a #4 filbert brush. Paint a C-stroke under Gold Oxide bowl with Napthol Crimson using a #4 filbert brush. Paint petals using shape following strokes with a #4 filbert brush and Titanium White. Paint a line under the petals with Sapphire using a #2 short liner brush. Add an Indian Red Oxide dot at the top of the flower and highlight with a smaller dot of Indian Yellow and then an even smaller dot of Naples Yellow. Add Naples Yellow graduated dots at the base and top of the flower. See Steps 9, 10 and 11.
