Some of the steps require additional layers of pencil to help reinforce and deepen the colors. When layering colors in shading, you don’t have to go out as far with a subsequent layer. Do your best to blend each additional color with the color underneath.
Use the Poppy Red to repeat the shading on the candy canes, and repeat the shading on the scarf sections. Line the stripes on each candy cane and lightly shade the cheeks of the snowman. Add a touch of shading at the bottom of the carrot nose and each star. Use the Olive Green pencil to lightly shade the bottom of each green check on the hat.
