Step 1: Load the no. 4 or no. 8 and paint all the petals with Warm White. Let dry. Load the no. 4 or no. 8 with Marigold and basecoat the petals. Load the no. 8 with Burnt Sienna and paint the centers.
Step 2: Load a damp 1/4" angle with Burnt Sienna and slide on the chisel edge of the brush to paint lines on the petals. Make sure to curve the lines with the shape of the petals. You can also use a liner brush. Load the toe of a damp 3/8" angle with Burnt Sienna and Paynes Grey and float color at the base of the flower centers. Paint a small “u” stroke in the centers. Refer to the finished picture for direction of the “u” shape. Let dry. Load the medium Mezzaluna with Bright Yellow and Warm White and wipe almost all the paint off on a paper towel. Dry-brush highlight on the flower centers.
