Bowl:
I chose not to apply any water to the bowl.
1. Stroke the Light Blue (or color of your choice) with the contour of the bowl in long sweeping strokes, working around the highlight strip.
2. Apply another coat of Light Blue on the outer edges, pressing harder for deeper color.
3. Apply White colored pencil to the rim of the bowl.
4. Apply Light Brown to the tiny shadow area and activate very carefully using your small round brush.
Evaluate Your Cherries Jubilee Recipe
Determine if you want to add additional color to your cherries using Red and/or Carmine. If desired, very, very lightly stroke dry Light Blue through the highlight area of the bowl and deepen the outer edges again.
 FINISHING
We could do a lot of shading and detail work, but this is meant to be a faint image, more like a watermark on the recipe. Frame it under glass to protect it from dust and humidity. Do not hang it in a damp environment and never, ever place any of your art in direct sunlight.
Sandy Adams joined SDP and the Decorative Artists of Jacksonville (Florida) in 1980. This was after she and her sister discovered an outdoor art show where members were demonstrating decorative painting in freezing weather! (Yes, it freezes in Florida.) Since then, she has taken classes from wonderful teachers and has taught for various chapters and retreats. She also enjoys teaching art classes at senior centers and to children at Ronald McDonald House. Please send a photo of your finished project or drop her a line: sadams311@att.net.
