6. Repeat gold detail lines (if necessary) to strengthen color and clean up.
7. Shade base of elements and add dark detail lines where necessary.
8. Add silver French knots (little dots).
9. Erase any remaining visible graphite lines and clean up using background color.
10. Add Galaxy Glitter.
11. Allow to dry thoroughly.
12. Varnish with several coats of your favorite semi-gloss varnish.
STAGE 1
PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1. Color - 24K Gold and a touch of Camel or Golden Straw
Refer to color worksheet Stage 1. The base painting, including the liner work, should be flat, even and opaque. It will take at least two layers of paint depending on how much water is added to the paint and how transparent the particular color is. Mix a small amount of Camel (or Golden Straw) into the 24K Gold to form a Gold Mix. The Camel (or Golden Straw) will help the gold be less transparent without changing the color, but it will lose some shine. Using the 24K Gold by itself after the first layer will brighten the shine again.
Using the liner brush and paint that is slightly thinned, scoop some of the paint up with the liner brush and move it to a clean place on the palette. Thin a small amount of this paint with water so that it is a creamy consistency. Reload often in the thinned paint to keep it flowing from the liner brush without having to press hard. Pressing hard will cause the lines to be thicker.
Paint the lines and details referring to the Stage 1 colored picture. When the paint in a liner brush begins to dry, it takes more pressure on the brush to get it to release the paint. Remember to reload every couple of strokes.
