In a globalised economy, schools need to get on board and adapt to current trends.
Rather than shunning technology and banning it from the classroom, an ideal teacher
will include 4IR teaching and assessment methods into the classroom. This can take
on many forms, but as Ingrid Beale, CEO of Lloyd’s, states, “For many people, the

Africa where many learners do not have internet access other than on their phones,
which they bring to school (covertly or otherwise). Letting learners engage with the
learning material on their phones generates interest in learning and engagement with
content on another level. At Maryvale, learners responded well to online assessments
and research tasks which required internet use.
