SCHOOL ENVIROMENT
The school environment of Masithwalisane
Secondary School is very calm and impacts
positively on teaching and learning as it
encourages effective teaching and learning as
there are resources available to enhance learner’s
interests. Resources such as tablets and
smartboards are available for the use of students
to make their learning fun. The resources are also
used to encourage critical thinking skills among
learners. The teacher- learner relationship is
effective as there are boundaries’ that ensures the
respect is given by both parties. Teachers are
kind, strict and act as guardians to the learners.
The school has strict rules that are followed by
both teachers and learners. The school gates are

closed at exactly 08:00 and everyone is expected
to be inside the school premises. Learners are
expected to wear full school uniform and teachers
are expected to wear in professional clothing.
Classrooms are not overcrowded which
encourages effective teaching. Drug abuse is also
evident in the school as most troublesome
learners are known to use them. The school tried
hiring more security to search learners when
entering the premises and that has bettered the
usage of drugs. The school consists of learners
that come from poor backgrounds but they are
catered for through a feeding scheme programs
hereby they are given 3 meals a day.
