Playing in the third division, the under 14 Junior Braves Team 3 boys started off the
Shepparton tournament where they left the previous tournament, playing hard and
               displaying unselfish teamwork.
In the first game the boys quickly jumped out to a commanding lead not showing any
negative signs of an 8am tip-off. Despite some niggling injuries the team won
               convincingly against Mildura 72-7.
The second game started the same as the previous, solid team defense leading to
numerous fast breaks resulting in a comfortable win over Benalla 52-13. In a gesture
of “credit” the opposition coach was quite surprised to learn that this Braves team was
the third team in our under 14 boys program.
From the start of the third game it was clear this was not going to be an easy contest
as the Braves were heavily undersized. The game pace was slow, and the Braves
struggled, but despite being down by seven points, the boys fought hard, and put their
bodies on the line to win by two points in a low scoring nail-biter, 23-21.
After learning some valuable lessons in the previous game, the boys refocused for
their fourth (and hottest) game of the day lifting their individual defense and displaying
their best team passing of the day - prompting positive reviews from the Deniliquin
coach, resulting in a win 56-8.
After a well earned break the boys played their fifth pool game on Sunday at 1pm
against Wangaratta. Despite the long break between games, the Braves again started
off strong on both ends of the court further raising their unselfish team work. The game
gave the Braves a chance to work on specific half court strategies, taking an easy win
               68-4.
