Elbit Systems’ warehouses, including its logistics center in Kiryat Gat and the warehouse in Holon, face order processing issues, leading to delays and financial penalties. Orders sometimes arrive incomplete or with missing documents, causing additional handling and errors. The solution lies in upgrading inventory management with accurate forecasting and computerized simulations. Data-driven forecasts can predict stock shortages in advance, enabling better supply planning. A smart inventory system enables real-time tracking of items, early detection of potentialissues, and error prevention. Implementing “Industry 4.0” principles, such as automation, smart sensors, and AI, will streamline processes, improve coordination, and reduce delivery times, ultimately cutting costs and improving profitability by optimizing logistics and management processes.

This final project focuses on improving patient service in Maccabi Health Services’ pharmacies, emphasizing operational and service-related processes that impact service quality and availability. “Maccabi Pharm” operates a wide network serving millions annually, yet faces challenges in queue management, inventory control, pharmacist communication, and workload. The project goals are: to enhance customer experience and streamline operations by using time and motion studies; Arena simulations; bottleneck analysis; as well as by updating procedures; improving existing inventory tracking systems and organizational information flow; and by providing staff training programs; reduced pharmacist workload; and stronger collaborations between headquarters and branch teams—all to improve service quality, shorten waiting times, and optimize resource use through smart, data-driven solutions.
