Loss of intellectual capital can happen in a number of ways, including:
- Resignation of key knowledge workers
- Theft of company data
- Destruction of key data that had not been backed up
- Infringement of intellectual property
- Loss of business reputation due to bad staff practices or poor quality control
The next in the ICM process is to:
- Identify risks
- Quantify the risks
- Eliminate or minimize the risks
One way to identify the risks is to look back at the IC Tree and see what types of risks are
associated with each item.
