Make your washing day a holiday
2007 marked the merger in Britain between the two independent family businesses, delta pronatura and The Astley Dye and Chemical Company – a logical consequence of cooperation that had already existed for many years between these long-established companies thanks to their varied yet similar histories. The “New Acdoco”
was subsequently born with a heightened emphasis on sales, distribution and marketing specialisation for premium brands. Both companies were founded at the beginning of the 20th century. Harry Pilling, founder of the British rm, revolutionised washing in Great Britain in the 1920s when he discovered sodium perborate
as an e ective cleaning booster for laundry. The substance was combined with soap in equal
parts in the suds and the oxidative solution that resulted was found to e ectively remove dirt and stains, without having to rigorously scrub the laundry. The oxidation also caused a mild bleaching of laundry – which triumphantly left all doors wide open for progress. “Make your washing day a holiday“ was
a slogan that stood for success. Over the course of time, specially designed products e.g. Glowhite for dazzlingly white laundry evolved at delta pronatura, as well as many other household brands. In the 1980s, Acdoco commendably achieved market leadership for
laundry additives in Britain. Faced with increasingly erce competition, the company continued to assert itself by introducing family branding strategies for products. TV advertising additionally guaranteed broad public awareness. Indeed, Acdoco had already begun the process of internationalisation
in the 90s, including its rst cooperation with delta pronatura. Today, Acdoco is world-renowned for its household, health and beauty products.
