CROCHET GIRL
I did learn to crochet that summer... and
I've been "hooked" ever since.
July. 1995. School's out for the summer. Crochet
Girl was perusing through a mail order fashion
magazine that she received in the mail every
month and that particular month featured a cool,
retro, and "I had to have it skirt." She begged her
mother to buy it for her, but her mom said, "NO
WAY."
She said, "please, I will be babysitting next
month and I will pay you back!"
But then her mother surprised her with her
reasoning, by saying, "it's not the money, this
skirt is made up of granny squares, it's
crocheted, and if you learn to crochet, you can
make it yourself."
Crochet Girl never did make that skirt, however,
she did learn to crochet that summer. She was
obsessed with designing crochet hand bags and
selling them to her peers. (Her best friends got
them for free!) and she's been "hooked" ever
since.
Fast forward 20+ years. Crochet Girl is proud to
call herself a crochet designer! At one point she
dreamed of owning a little crochet boutique of
things that she's made, so she tried it in a way of
sorts by spending years selling her work at
markets, craft shows, special events, by
consignment in boutiques, and online. But soon
she realized how tiresome it is.Becoming irritated with spending all of her free time (she had a another job too!)
making the same things over and over, she became stressed out. That was when she decided to put the markets
aside and concentrate on designing... and that was the day that she fell in love with crochet all over again!
Crochet Girl has had work in magazines, She adores tapestry crochet, likes to be a little eccentric sometimes,
but I still enjoys the good 'ole classic look of knit/crochet, and she love a good challenge!
She presents you... her best work! A lot of time, precision, and care is put into each of her designs because she
wants you to enjoy crocheting them as much as she enjoyed designing them!
